Waterbirds coated in mystery substance treated at Lindsay

Lindsay Wildlife Museum’s rehabilitation hospital has treated waterbirds coated in a mystery substance from along the East Bay Shoreline. Some of these birds have been transferred to International Bird Rescue for continued care. Some Lindsay Wildlife Museum volunteers are helping with the response efforts at the shoreline.

If you find a bird, please place it in a container and transport it to International Bird Rescue at 4369 Cordelia Rd, Fairfield, CA 94534. You can also bring the bird to our hospital 9am-5pm daily, or to Sulphur Creek Nature Center in Hayward. Please do not feed the bird or attempt to wash it yourself.

More information about the affected birds can be found in this recent San Francisco Chronicle article.
