Discover the importance of pollinators at Lindsay Wildlife Museum

SF Bay Area’s Premier Wildlife Rehabilitation and Nature Education Center Presents Native Bees in partnership with Insect Sciences Museum of California

WALNUT CREEK, CALIF. —July 29, 2014—Lindsay Wildlife Museum and the Insect Sciences Museum of California presents an exciting evening revealing the importance of Native Bees and what we can do to help restore their habitat.

During this family program, visitors will discover that pollinators are diverse and fascinating animals that provide an important service in the environment by mowing pollen between flowers and ensuring the growth of seeds and fruits. Native bees are the most important of the pollinators. Eddie Dunbar, head of the Insect Sciences Museum will lead this discussion.

This event kicks off Bee Bop!—a two-day celebration of all things pollinators at Lindsay Wildlife Museum, happening August 16-17, 2014. August 16 is also National Honey Bee Day.

Where: Lindsay Wildlife Museum, 1931 First Ave., Walnut Creek, adjacent to Larkey Park.

When: 7:00 to 8: 30 PM, Thursday, August 14, 2014 with Native Bees.

June 18, 2014–Labor Day: Wednesday–Sunday 10 AM–5 PM

Admission is free for members and children under 2 years old, $8.50 for adults, $7.50 for seniors 65+ and $6.50 for children 2 -17.
