Public Votes to Decide the Name of Lindsay Wildlife Museum’s Newest Animal Ambassador

SF Bay Area’s Premier Wildlife Rehabilitation and Nature Education Center to debut an American kestrel

What: Lindsay Wildlife Museum is set to debut its newest animal ambassador, a male American kestrel, and the public has the opportunity to select the name through online voting. Possible names include Tercel, Sparrow, Falco and Sparvius. The kestrel will be featured in public programming including school tours, classes, exhibit hall presentations and on-site birthday parties.

When: Voting is open from August 1- August 15, 2014

Interesting Facts: This kestrel was originally found near Clear Lake, CA with a wing injury that prevents proper flight. The bird was treated at The Bird Rescue Center in Santa Rosa before coming to Lindsay Wildlife Museum in March 2014.

Museum Hours & Admission
September 13–June 15: Wednesday–Friday 12 PM–5 PM, Saturday–Sunday 10 AM–5 PM
June 18, 2014–Labor Day: Wednesday–Sunday 10 AM–5 PM

Admission is free for members and children under 2 years old, $8.50 for adults, $7.50 for seniors 65+ and $6.50 for children 2 -17.
