Andrew Jackson Grayson (1818-1872) was an American explorer, naturalist, ornithologist, an artist of exceptional talent and scientific knowledge. The Smithsonian Institution recognized Grayson in 1856 as the "Audubon of the West." A changing selection of limited edition prints of his original watercolor series - Birds of the Pacific Slope - will be on display in the Thomas J. Long Exhibit Hall. This exhibit is made possible by The Bernard Osher Foundation. |
